This week in science we, played a card game that you had to match the animal with its habitat and its role.
This is the picture of the finished card game, Bianca and my hands.
This week i learned, about carrying capacity's. A carrying capacity is the number of organisms any enviorment can support. We also learned about Living factors. Living Factors are the available amount of energy (food), water, Oxygen and minerals and the ability of ecosystem to recycle the remains of dead organisms. So what it's saying is the ability for an organism to live in its endowment. For example a monkey eats bananas so for that monkey to live were it lives it will need to find a place that grows bananas. We also Played a Game. The Game was called Oh Deer! the way you play is pick three deers
and everyone else are the resources and the deer have to run to get the resources or they will die.
In conclusion this week was fun. Bye

This week in science: Energy Transfer
This week in science we learned about Food chains. a food chain shows the transfer of energy from one organism to another. a food chain also shows animals from dominent to small and defenseless. the top would most likely be the dominent and the bottom will be the defenseless. We also Drew a energy chain or chart. A energy pyramid shows the amount of energy in each trophic level of an organism. Which basicly means it shows the energy giving off by one organism and going into another organism using arrows.
This week in science i learned about my fantasy animal and were its at in the food chain in its biome.
My animal is a herbivore. Which means it only eats producers. A producer is an organism that makes its own food. I also learned what a energy pyramid is. Also i learned how a food chain works like i knew what it was but i really didn't know how it worked. As far as the arrows and the animals go. Like how the animals are lined up in which they get eaten or eat. Also how the arrows point and what they symbolize. I learned that any animal that eats another living organism is called a carnivore.
i Learned what a primary consumer is and a secondary consumer. At that point i guessed what a tertiary consumer was and i was right. a primary consumer is any organism that gets its energy fron producers.
A secondary consumer is an organism that gets its energy from consumers. And a tertiary consumer is an organism that gets its energy from secondary consumers.

This was my energy pyramid when it was almost finished. I put this up because i wanted to show how it looked before and after i finished.
This is the finished energy pyramid. Not my best but i finished.I put this up because i wanted to show the finished copy.

This week in science energy transfer
This week in science we learned how to identify roles that organism's play in the food chain. Such as consumers , primary consumers, secondary consumer, tortiary consumers. There are also herbivore's, carniovres. They all have there own roles. some roles include only eating plants some include making your own food. some include eating other organisms. some just eat plants and there role are getting eaten by other animals to give off energy.

My fantasy habitat
This week in science we picked a animal off Frbloggin.blogspot.com and we researched about it. I picked a chipmunk because they look like squirrels and i wanted to know the difference they have alot of diffrences people do not really know . Starting with Squirrels comes in a variety of colors or come in many colors like brown, grey even red. There are even Rare Albino Squirrels but Squirrels have bushy tails tails thats the most distinctive characteristic or makes them different the most. Also my animal (chipmunk) eats acorn nuts they stuff them into their cheeks to save for hibernation. Chipmunks need to hibernate for the winter. i Also learned instead of storing Fat they dip into the gathered nuts they gather during the hot weather and eat em then.
I liked learning about this because it taught me some interesting facts about chipmunks and squirrels. starting with the defining characteristics. Then Learning about the chipmunks cheeks stretch so they can put a lot of nuts in it.
